Margaret T. Hance Park

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

An amazing walk around with a high quality play area.

Margaret T. Hance was the first female mayor of Phoenix, Arizona. The Margaret T. Hance Park was named in her honor. The park itself is 32-acres and located in downtown Phoenix. For more information, you can check out the park's official website here. By visiting this website you'll find links to nearby interests:

Japanese Friendship Garden - RoHoEn, beside the Fiesta Bowl play space.

Nearby, the Great Arizona Puppet Theater can be found.

The play area here at Margaret T. Hance Park is very nice. It includes animal structures that stand out and are the highlight of this playground. You can look out from inside through an observation window, use the slide or climb around them. There are also two separate climbing options for various ages. This play space is called the 'Fiesta Bowl PLAY'.

There is more here than just for the kids though. There is an enclosed dog area for your furry friends to run around in. Both big and little dogs have their own, separated areas. The area also includes open space. These fields are great for Frisbee or to let kids run around. Also, these fields can be used as a nice picnic spot.

The Margaret T. Hance Park has it all. It is a very diverse area, with many other places in an easy and walkable distance. This includes walkable restaurants and local attractions. There is a historic area as well as modern architecture close by. This makes for a beautiful blend of new and old buildings.

As Team G.O.T. explored more of the Margaret T. Hance Park neighboring areas, we found there is a nearby park called Portland Parkway. Seeing a little of the Roosevelt Historical District was also interesting. Find out more about this neighborhood here.

These extended walks give lots of options for exploring a mix of scenery.
