Riverview Park

Updated: Oct 11, 2023

This park's spread-out playground is for all ages and multiple skill levels. It's built for birthday parties.

Riverview Park Overview

This is a big, free park. The playground at this park is huge. It has a range of activities from little kids to adults. The park has a lot more than a standard play park as well. There's a variety of climbing equipment, a blue swing large enough to hold more than one, and a small stone play structure.

It has unique attractions such as a small zip line. The tallest attraction can be seen from across the park. It's the rope climbing structure, where you choose how far you want to climb and that can be very high up! There is also a splash pad at the park, which can be a great place to cool down in hot months.

Just outside of the playground area, there are bathrooms at the park. There are also places to bike or skate. Ducks like to inhabit the water around as well. You can feed the ducks, however there are not many here. If you would like to really feed a lot of ducks, please check the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch post in the Parks & Trails section.

There is also a display fountain with colors at night. Since the park has so many features, it tends to be very busy. Be sure to bring plenty of water if you choose to go to this location.

Hug-a-tree Program

Riverview Park is also part of the hug-a-tree program.

This is exactly what it sounds like. Different trees in different parks are designated parts of the program. These trees are encouraged to be hugged. The point of this program is similar to G.O.T. - to get people outdoors with fun activities. The Hug A Tree program is going on all over Mesa, so be sure to check it out!

For more information, please see the Hug The Trees official webpage.
